Maggie Nelson's Bluets

Updated: Apr 27

What seems like an obsession, turns into a love and respect for something that is much more than just a color. In Maggie Nelson's Bluets, blue is an idea, something that kicks up all the dust that was collected unconsciously underneath the carpet of our mind's; it's an abrasive exploration into the psyche measured by the depth of blueness in any given object or subject. There's a catharsis at play here which gets down and dirty with life's many unanswerable questions such as: is it love or confusion? How much influence does the physical world of our senses really have over our internal world? These are the Bluets that float around the mind as you read this experimental piece of anecdotal prose.
